Personal Web Space
Comporium.Net users can create their own Web pages and store them on our server. This provides a mechanism by which users can display their own information on the Web without the need for their own systems to be on-line all the time.
We offer a number of different services, ranging from simple storage and user-developed files to complete creation and implementation of users' pages (including scanning and other graphics services, page layout and development, etc.)
For more involved web development, please be sure to browse our Premium Web Hosting Packages

Creating your pages - Learning HTML The first step in creating a Web site is to learn the basics of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). A Web page is simply a plain text file (created in a text editor such as Notepad) with various HTML commands. HTML is an easy language to learn, and a good place to start is NCSA's Beginner's Guide to HTML. If you don't have the time to learn HTML, you can use any of the popular WYSIWYG ("What You See Is What You Get") Web page creation programs such as Microsoft FrontPage* or Macromedia Dreamweaver. You can also create pages easily by creating them in Microsoft Word and then saving them by going to file-->save as web page. By using WYSIWYG software, you can create Web pages without learning HTML. However, WYSIWYG's are often limited in their functionality and are usually not as efficient as coding HTML "by hand." They are, however, extremely useful for novices. Important: Your main entry page (first page of your site) MUST be named "index.html". This must be the name of your start page in order for your personal web site to work. If it is not named this, you pages will not be seen by the browser. *FrontPage extensions are not supported when using your personal web space as of this time. |
